So, this weekend I got to visit Vienna (Wien) for an afternoon. Now before everyone gets crazy and thinks how cool it must be to hop around the world for an afternoon – Vienna’s only a 3 hour drive. It’s like going from New York to DC, maybe even a little closer. Really beautiful city, very clean. Surprisingly I saw 3 different Starbucks there, about 4 blocks apart from each other. I thought I was back in the US! Someday I’ll visit again, and hopefully stay a little longer. Now it’s back to work – the CD is coming along well, I’m quite pleased with some of the draft mixes. If all goes well, maybe I’ll release a promotional (free) song by next week for everyone to download. Until then – have a listen to this –
Archive for August, 2005
I’ve been a busy guy these past few days, between finishing up work on the new CD and doing some work on the site. Over to the right, is the spiffy new “minimalist” flash player, I’ve got it set so it won’t auto-start (a little courtesy for those who surf while at work..) Big thanks to Tiago Dias aka Funkysoul over at pixel2life for his tutorial on how to create these things, as Flash has a bit of a learning curve to it.
This weekend I got to see the 6th annual ARC poster exhibition, a giant outdoor graphic-design art show. Politically and socially motivated, each year a theme is given and artists create a poster or billboard using that theme. The resulting entries are displayed in the outdoor exhibit. This year’s theme is “Our homeland”. The exhibition runs until the end of August so you still have another couple of weeks to go see it if you’re in the area. If not, no worries – I uploaded a bunch of pictures for everyone to see. You can check them out here.
Please note, the posters offer political and/or social commentary with references on Hungarian culture and life, some may be difficult to understand but I hope you enjoy them as this exhibit has some really nice graphic artwork.
Hey everybody, welcome to the brand spanking new re-design of vayderx.com. A few weeks ago I decided to give the site a major re-work. It took me a while to get everything working right so I hope you like the work I’ve put into the page. I plan on updating the entries weekly so check back often if you’re interested in what I’ve been up to. Or if you’re like me and would rather have a newsreader do it for you, vayderx.com now has an RSS feed. In the next week or two, I’ll be making slight tweaks here and there plus adding some new cool things. As soon as I can figure out how to keep the flash .mp3 player from starting automatically, I’ll put that up there too. Then you can listen while you read. Enjoy!
